NATO endorses the Sectra Tiger secure mobile phone for CONFIDENTIAL level communication

The Hague, Netherlands – March 12, 2015 - Sectra (STO: SECT B), a leading European provider of secure mobile solutions, has been granted NATO endorsement for its encrypted mobile phone Sectra Tiger/S 7401. Through this endorsement, NATO authorities and officials can use Sectra Tiger/S 7401 to securely communicate information classified up to and including the level NATO CONFIDENTIAL over ordinary mobile networks without fear of interception, including by other countries’ Security Agencies.

For government authorities, defense departments or critical social infrastructure, the ability to transfer information fast and securely may be a matter of life or death. By using products and solutions for communication that have been approved and inspected by an independent security authority, individuals and organizations can make phone calls and transfer data, while remaining confident that only the intended recipients will gain access to the information.

The first Sectra Tiger/S 7401 units are currently being taken into operation within the NATO organization. In one single device, the solution provides secure communication and transparent interoperability between multiple security domains. A user can thus use their device to securely communicate with colleagues within their NATO security domain, in their own national security domain, or in their network within the European Union.

Furthermore, the Sectra Tiger/S 7401 communicates seamlessly with other members of the Sectra Tiger family, such as the Sectra Tiger/S XS, approved for NATO SECRET and the Sectra Tiger/R, an encrypted smartphone solution under evaluation for NATO RESTRICTED. This allows user organizations to benefit from a larger degree of freedom in choosing a solution adapted to every individual’s security needs.

Sectra Tiger/S 7401 is also approved up to and including the SECRET classification level by the Dutch security agency NLNCSA. Furthermore, it is currently under evaluation for NATO SECRET (by SECAN) and EU SECRET.
