Sectra gains important reference customer in critical infrastructure

Linköping, Sweden – February 21, 2018 – A major company in critical infrastructure has ordered cybersecurity company Sectra’s (STO: SECT B) monitoring service for critical process systems. The agreement extends for five years and covers system monitoring at several locations in Sweden. Sectra’s service detects if network traffic on the monitored systems deviates from the normal traffic. Deviations may be due to cyberattacks, technical errors, or handling errors—by detecting these immediately, they can be rectified before they have serious consequences.

Sectra’s service is currently used primarily among players in the electric energy industry. With this agreement, their use has been expanded to a new segment in the energy sector.

“Awareness of cyber-related threats is increasing, and Sectra is helping to prevent the consequences that a disruption to service in critical infrastructure can entail,” says Simo Pykälistö, President of Sectra Communications.

Sectra’s offering to players in critical infrastructure also covers security assessments, risk and vulnerability analyses, and network analyses. These services assess the client’s ability to detect and prevent both physical and cyber-related threats to critical systems.
