Encryption for JAS 39 Gripen
In 2006, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) commissioned Sectra to develop a customized telemetry encryption system to be used during test flights of the aircraft. The encryption system for the JAS 39 Gripen is tailor-made for use in the aircraft and meets strict security requirements.
Sectra has unique competence in encryption, as a result of which we could rapidly customize a cryptosystem for aircraft from our broad cryptographic portfolio.

Tailormade encryption
Sectra has developed and enhanced the customized telemetry encryption system for the JAS 39 Gripen fighter plane.
The JAS 39 Gripen is a lightweight, single-engine multirole combat aircraft manufactured for the Swedish Air Force by Swedish aerospace company SAAB. The encryption system for the JAS 39 Gripen is tailor-made for use in the aircraft and meets strict security requirements.
Over the years, the system has been enhanced in a close collaboration between SAAB and Sectra.
